Caroline’s Spring

Caroline Spring was named Caroline Augusta Spring in 1870 in honour of the wife of Emperor Francis I. Until then it was called Nový.
Until the beginning of this century, the waters of Karoline Spring were used for drinking treatment directly at the spring, and since the establishment of Nové Lázně, together with Ambrožka, for bathing.

The colonnade above the spring, roofed with a dome with seven Corinthian columns, has been in use since 1869.

When a second Úšovice spring, Rudolf’s Spring, was brought here in 1912, it created a convenient offer of two mineral springs in one place for spa guests – a kind of precursor of the future drinking hall.

Today, you can also find Carolinka in the Cross Spring Hall, which offers three springs.

Carolinka Spring is chemically a natural weakly mineralised bicarbonate-magnesium-sodium-iron acid.

Due to its higher magnesium content, the spring is used in urological diseases and in the treatment of kidney stones. Calcium and magnesium are considered to have anti-inflammatory effects.

Carolina spring is very popular as a refreshing spring, especially in summer.
