Tennis

TENNIS area has a rich history, dates back to 1919. Tennis has always been an integral part of the spa town. The hotel tennis courts were founded in 1935, much earlier than the hotel itself and only interrupted during the war years. In 1945 the courts began to be restored.

 

The turning point was the year 1967, when the legendary Gale Cup was first held. Many Czech and foreign tennis players started their sport careers here as I. Janovský, T. Šmíd, P. Složil and especially Ivan Lendl, who is still the honorary President of the TCF SCHICHT Mariánské Lázně Club. Among the foreign participants were the Italian Panatta, the Yugoslav Franulovič, the Hungarian Tároczy, the Polish Fibak and many others, in the future quality tennis players.

We currently offer 8 tennis courts, where it is possible to arrange individual and group trainings, children academy and organized company tournament.
