Zámek Kynžvart

The classical castle, whose history is linked to the Metternich family, is surrounded by a large English park with small buildings.

The castle is one of the three most visited sights in the Karlovy Vary Region.

However, politics are left completely aside when visiting Kynžvart Castle, and Prince Metternich presents himself to visitors mainly as an enthusiastic traveller and collector.
The tour includes the interiors, equipped with Empire furniture and period portraits, the castle armoury, an exhibition commemorating the last executioner of Cheb and the first administrator of the Kynžvart Museum, Karel Huss.

When visiting the castle, you will also see the famous Metternich Cabinet of Curiosities, where each unique object has its own unique story.
The cabinet contains 4,000 exhibits from all over the world.
